The library will be hosting 2 Thanksgiving food drives, November 1-16! Please consider going through your cupboards and donate either to the Hawaiʻi Foodbank [New Window] or Hānai iā Leeward [New Window]. Donation boxes will be placed at the main entrance of the Learning Commons.

Contributions to the Hawaiʻi Foodbank will be distributed to local families in need; contributions to Hānai iā Leeward will be distributed to Leeward CC students participating in this program.

Top 5 items needed:

  1. Canned proteins
  2. Canned meals
  3. Canned vegetables
  4. Canned fruits
  5. Rice

Volunteer for Halloween Spooky Fun House!

Have you heard about Leeward Community College’s 50 Acts of Service project? In honor of our 50th anniversary, we aim to complete 50 acts of service during the 2018-2019 academic year! Please consider volunteering for an event to support this project and most importantly, our community!

Upcoming service opportunity: The City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting Halloween Spooky Fun House at Kalākaua District Park Thursday, October 25th. This event is geared towards children ages 12 and under. We are looking for volunteers to help with:

  • Costume contest
  • Make and take crafts
  • Passing out candy
  • Event breakdown

While this event is open for anyone to volunteer, event organizers strongly encourage student volunteers! Please pass this along to anyone you think would be interested!

Kanopy: New Login System

Kanopy [New Window], one of our resources for streaming videos, has a new login system.  Starting October 4, 2018, all users must create a personal account to view content.  This is a very quick process, and there is no charge.

When attempting to play a video, you will be prompted to log in or sign up.

If you already have an account, log in with your email and password.  If you do not have an account, click on the Sign Up button.  You will be prompted to enter your name, email address, and a password.

After you submit your information, you will be emailed a verification link. Click on the link in your email, and you’re all set!

Please note that if you are off campus, you may also need to enter your UH login credentials, if prompted, when accessing Kanopy.
