One spot of good news during this COVID-19 crisis is that many academic vendors are temporarily loosening restrictions to their electronic content. JSTOR is one such vendor. From now through June 30, we have been granted access to more than 35,000 multidisciplinary ebooks, archive journal collections, and more.
It’s easy to find what you need in JSTOR. To get started, enter your keyword(s) in the search box.
From the search results page, you may filter by type of content, or add another search term.
When you find an article of interest, click on the title for more information.

Please visit our newest exhibit, “Shakespeare Under Glass,” in the Leeward CC Library’s display case. A joint effort of the Literature, History, and Theatre departments as well as the Leeward CC Library, this exhibit features replicas, images, and books about the life and times of William Shakespeare. Anchoring this exhibit is the Leeward CC Library’s facsimile of Shakespeare’s First Folio, the first collection of Shakespeare’s plays bound in a single volume and without which we would not have such memorable works as Macbeth, The Tempest, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, and As You Like It, among others. This exhibit will be on display from Tuesday, March 3 – Friday, April 10. This is the third of four planned events in the Semester of Shakespeare 2020. We would like to thank everyone for supporting our Blind Date with a Book activity [New Window]! We had to re-stock the display each week!
There are a few books left if you would like to snag a book date. Thursday, February 27th, will be the last day for this activity. Before you return your book date, please fill out the Rate Your Date slip (inserted inside of the book’s cover) so we can improve on our matchmaking skills!
This February, join us for Blind Date with a Book!
We selected books from a variety of genres and wrote personal ads to get you to check them out. Drop by the library soon to get a book date before they’re all gone!
Instructions
- Look through the personal ads without unwrapping them.
- Take your book date to the circulation desk to check it out. If your book date is an e-Book, you can check it out yourself by scanning the QR code with your mobile device or type in the book’s url in your browser.
- You can now unwrap your book date!
- Take your book date home–give it a chance! It came highly recommended.
- (Optional) Rate your book date after you return it. We welcome the feedback.
