Banned Books Week: Keep the Light On – September 22-28!

Banned Books Week – Keep the Light On – September 22 – 28

Ray Bradbury once commented, “You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture; just get people to stop reading them.”

Leeward CC Library’s display “Keep the Light On” showcases books that have been banned or challenged.  These books will NOT be circulated during Banned Books Week. This is to reflect what it feels like to live in a society that has limited what we can or cannot read. The books will be available to borrow from September 30th.

As Salman Rushdie said, “Free speech is the whole thing, the whole ball game. Free speech is life itself.” Please come visit our banned books display which will be unveiled on September 22nd. For more information on Banned/Challenged books please visit this site: Banned Books Week LibGuide [New Window].
